CREATING is a collaborative project that aims at creating, developing and strengthening a social sciences and humanities research network bringing together scholars and institutions from the European research area with colleagues and partner institutions from a number of eastern African countries.
The network concentrates its activities on issues of relevance for development within the context of improved social and regional cohesion, with a particular focus on montane and lacustrine regions which lie across political boundaries.

C.R.E.A.T.IN.G holds final Workshop
Within the CREATING project, a final workshop was held in Arusha Tanzania bringing together all the stakeholders. The three days meeting, March 22 – 25 2010, was organized around the following thematic sessions:
- Presentations and sharing of experiences on European and East African cooperation
- Presentations and lectures on information resources, publication, editing and dissemination
- Scholars and C.R.E.A.T.IN.G supported students scholarly paper presentations
- Discussion on C.R.E.A.T.IN.G led future strategies

C.R.E.A.T.IN.G holds a Research Training Workshop
Under this project, 25 students of various social sciences and the humanities who are in a medium stage of their studies for a Master or PhD degree were selected, in cooperation with their supervisors, for participation in a special training programme in fieldwork methods.
